Travel, the tease of motion, and negative space

Today a friend of mine, Dr. Strobe Driver, launched their ContainArt photograph exhibition in Alfred Deakin Place, Ballarat as part of the Ballarat Foto Biennale (the same event to feature the Frankenstein Atomic Frontier exhibition by Owlman’s cover artist, the Legless Ballerina – Stacey Moll). The thing that I find pleasurable about Dr. Driver’s is his use of negative space and the constant tease of motion. The subject matter is never the visual focus of Dr. Driver’s work. Rather it is the potential of what is and may be. Dr. Driver tells a story in a thousand words with one picture.

If you’re in Ballarat or surrounds, go check it out! For those who aren’t – one of Dr. Driver’s images is below.
